He is the Associate Director for one of the leading centers of study in this area, the Center for Intelligent Material Systems and Structures.

I used this book as textbook for the discipline of Smart Material at Mechanical Engineering course. It is very didactic, has a very nice way to introduce complex concepts, and the students liked it.
